It’s my body, I’ll modify it however I want!
I’m sitting here watching Taboo on National Geographic. I love this show because it’s often about body modification. This episode happens to be about sub dermal implants. (As much as I love body mods, some of these are extreme for even me.)

Though, when you think about it, what makes that so different from breast implants?
I do have some modifications of my own. The oddest of my mods is my daith piercing in my left ear (this is the center part of the ear). I used to have more holes; I only wear one set in my lobes these days; size 6g plugs.

I like the daith piercing because it is understated yet unusual. I haven’t ever actually met anyone else who has it done. People will tell me they know someone who has it done, but it usually turns out they have their tragus pierced, not their daith, which is a much more common piercing.
I also have 2 tattoos. On my left buttock, I have a cartoon vampire bunny that is a self-portriat I drew.
(Tee-hee!) The other is Japanese kanji down my outer left thigh, which I am 99% sure reads something to the effect of “embrace greatness by means of rejecting authority.”
I would love to get more tattoos, much to the chagrin of my father (amongst a few others). I would like a couple of specific pieces for sure. My friend Stephanie’s boyfriend is a very talented tattoo artist who runs a studio out of their living room, so I think one of these days I will have to go over there and get inked!
There is guy on TV getting his eye whites tattooed black. I think THAT is something I can rule out on my “to do” list of body mods….

I keep thinking of all the grandmas who will have tattoos when you reach grandma age. I think of wrinkles and sagging tattoos and it makes me want to laugh.
Among your age group it’s a pretty common thing.
The whites of his eyes? OMG that sounds painful. I think breast augmentation is a totally different gig than sub dermal implants. I lived in Vegas and most of my friends that had boob jobs (its VERY popular there) did so because they were dancers or cocktail waitresses or keno runners and work in casinos. They make big bucks and the competition is fierce to maintain these jobs. A certain look is expected. Or they did it to look and feel sexier. Do temporal sub dermal implants makes people feel sexier? I dunno. But it doesn’t look sexy to me.
