My friend Stephanie, the go-go dancer!
My girl Stephanie dancing her heart out at Clutch Cargo’s, Detroit.
So, a couple of weeks ago, my friend Stephanie called me up out of the blue. I hadn’t talked to her in months; she kinda dropped off the radar after having some issues with alcohol and the law. She was calling to see if I had a pair of go-go boots she could borrow. She was missing one of hers as the result of a long story that I won’t bore you with, because it’s beside the point. And she was in need of a pair of boots before the weekend.
Steph is friends with a girl named Natalie, who has toured Europe as a go-go dancer at electronic music shows. She got Stephanie a gig dancing for some big European DJ (I’m not so into the ol’ techno as I was in my raver kid days, so I can’t tell you who the DJ was) at Clutch Cargo’s in Detroit that weekend! Which for this girl is like a dream come true.
Well, my boot selection is not what it used to be… I’ve worn out too many pairs that I haven’t replaced. Alas, I had nothing suitable to offer. But she did come over and hang out for a bit and told me all about what she’s been up to. But that’s a whole ‘nother entry!
Anyway, she had an AMAZING time and will hopefully get to do it again, and she might even get a chance to go on tour! Some photos of her even ended up on picturethisdetroit.com, which I have posted here for your viewing pleasure..
